The 2015 Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are an American Basketball team from Oakland, California. They are a part of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The team was first established a long way back in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was an essential founding member of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), and has won the inaugural 1947 BAA Finals that is now considered the first NBA Championship. The franchise relocated to the Bay Area in 1962 and changed its name to the San Francisco Warriors. This was only till 1971, when it changed its name again, this time to Golden State, California’s state nickname. The team’s home court has been Oracle Arena in Oakland since 1972.

The Golden State Warriors have four NBA championships to their credit. Most recently, they won the NBA championship by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 Finals. The Golden State Warriors are the defending NBA champions who have started their 70th ongoing season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). It is also their 54th season in the San Francisc-o Bay Area. The Golden State Warriors have already set numerous NBA and franchise records this season. The began a great stretch, winning their first 24 games at one go, casting a shadow on the previous best start know to NBA, set in the 1993-94 season by the Houston Rockets and also the 1948–49 Washington Capitols.

They were recently defeated in their winning streak on 12th December 2015 by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Golden State Warriors also shattered the long time 131-year-old record held by the St. Louis Maroons baseball team of 20–0 set in 1884 to prove to be the best start to a game season in all of the major professional sports in the country. If that’s not enough, they also won 28 consecutive regular-season games dating back to the 2014–15 season, completely obscuring Miami Heat’s 2012–13 record for the second longest winning streak in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors also easily surpassed the New York Knicks for the best road start in NBA history at 14–0, which also incidentally happens to the joint-third longest road win streak. The team is currently still hitting it home with 33-straight regular season wins. With Chicago Bulls holding the record at 44, this has proved to be the joint-sixth best streak in NBA history.

The regular players include Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli, Shaun Livingston, Jason Thompson, Marreese Speights, Leandro Barbosa, Ian Clark, James Michael McAdoo Brandon Rush and Kevon Looney, and Steve Kerr is the running coach for the team right now. Andrew Bogut won the 2015 MVP award for his outstanding performance in the season. The Warriors suffered their second loss on the 30th of December 2015 to Dallas Mavericks, ending the game on 91- 114 (Golden State- Dallas).

A San Francisco, California resident fan remarked on the gameplay of the Warriors, saying that “Without the principal players due to injury, the other players must be able to Step up their play and Fill the void. Pursuit to excellence is the only way, today, the warriors played lethargically”. With recurring losses, the (Golden State) Warriors have dropped from their leading position to 29-2 on the season. They have had a good season with a long run until now and have a good chance of grabbing victory for the 5th time. With this loss, they have gone down by a long way, and they hope to rebound on the 31st of December 2015, when they travel to Houston to take on the Rockets in the second game of a back-to-back.

A lot of fans have also expressed their feelings about the recent loss of the Golden State Warriors but fans of Stephen Curry show support saying “I’m really a big fan of Stephen Curry he’s the best NBA player for me.” Another fan said, “Excellent golden state warriors.” And yet another saying that “I really like this team and Steph Curry is the best.” The Golden State Warriors have also met with some amount of criticism after losing the recent game, but the team members and the coach Steve Kerr have remarked that they would prove to do a better job and score a win for the Golden State Warriors in the next game, which is against the strong team, Houston Rockets.
